Study of Phase Composition in TiFe + 4 wt.% Zr Alloys by Scanning Photoemission Microscopy

نویسندگان

چکیده

The alloy TiFe is widely used as hydrogen storage material. However, the first hydrogenation difficult. It was found that addition of zirconium greatly improves kinetic hydrogenation, but mechanism not well understood. In this paper, we report use scanning photoemission microscopy to investigate composition and chemical state various phases present in how they change upon hydrogenation/dehydrogenation. We presence different oxide were seen by conventional SEM investigation. nature these oxides seems hydrogenation/dehydrogenation cycle. This indicates may play a more significant role absorption what previously believed.

Hydrogenation Properties of TiFe Doped with Zirconium

The goal of this study was to optimize the activation behaviour of hydrogen storage alloy TiFe. We found that the addition of a small amount of Zr in TiFe alloy greatly reduces the hydrogenation activation time. Two different procedural synthesis methods were applied: co-melt, where the TiFe was melted and afterward re-melted with the addition of Zr, and single-melt, where Ti, Fe and Zr were me...

Investigation of Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 /GaN heterostructures by scanning probe microscopy

Piezoresponse force microscopy (PFM) technique has been utilized to study the evolution of domain structure with varying PbsZr,TidO3sPZTd thickness on GaN substrate. Sol-gel PZT films were deposited on the GaN/sapphire substrate with PZT thickness of 100, 200, and 300 nm. The films exhibit ferroelectric properties that vary as a function of the film thickness. This is explained by the mechanica...

Arrangement of nitrogen atoms in GaAsN alloys determined by scanning tunneling microscopy

The pair distribution function of nitrogen atoms in GaAs0.983N0.017 has been determined by scanning tunneling microscopy. Nitrogen atoms in the first and third planes relative to the cleaved (1 0) surface are imaged. A modest enhancement in the number of nearest-neighbor pairs particularly with [001] orientation is found, although at larger separations the distribution of N pair separations is ...
